Division of Behavioral Health
Congratulations to the RI Regional Coalitions, law enforcement, and the hundreds of volunteers for their work to ensure a successful Drug Take Back Day! More than 4,000 pounds of expired medications was collected, helping us keep our households safe. Thank you to all involved for a job well done!
May is Mental Health Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to acknowledge the vital role of mental health in our overall well-being. It is also important in raising awareness to ensure individuals in need receive proper treatment. Established in 1949, this observance has never been more relevant than it is today. Mental Health Awareness Month educates and informs the public about mental illness, promotes the understanding of research and treatment options, and combats the stigma associated with mental health issues. Each May there is a collective effort to promote understanding, support, and access to resources for all individuals impacted by mental health challenges.
