Description of Services
Rhode Island Community Living and Supports (RICLAS) is the State-operated service provider for individuals with developmental disabilities living in Rhode Island. In addition to day support, RICLAS provides 24-hour residential support to adult men and women in locations around the State. Following are the types of residential services provided:
- Special Care Facilities: Two sites provide 24-hour nursing care along with dietary, housekeeping and other program services.
- HUD Apartment Programs: Individuals we support lease apartments in HUD housing complexes north and east of Providence.
- Group Homes: RICLAS operates group homes in various locations throughout the State. Each is designed to meet the specific needs of individuals.
The following services are provided to individuals in RICLAS who require them. These services are also provided when people, who reside at home or in a community setting, may need them on a temporary basis:
- Direct Support services
- Nursing services
- Psychological services
- Social services
- Nutrition services
- Physical Therapy
- Respite Care (temporary residential services for individual in crisis)
- Medical services
- Occupational Therapy
- Transportation services
- Self-Advocacy groups
