  • RI Developmental Disabilities Council
    A federally mandated and funded agency of state government in Rhode Island. One of the Council's missions is to promote ideas which will enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities.

    The federally funded, non-profit law office that is the designated Protection and Advocacy Agency for people with disabilities in Rhode Island. A recipient since 1977 of Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities funding, RIDLC now has additional funding sources that allow it to provide free legal assistance to individuals with disabilities on a variety of disability-related legal issues, including: access to employment, community services, vocational rehabilitation, Social Security work incentives, assistive technology, government services, and special education; fair housing; and ADA issues related to health care and education. RIDLC also uses its federal authority to investigate allegations of systemic abuse and neglect.
